“With all the Risk stuff that has gone on behind the scenes lately (new achievement levels, new goals to be achieved, new iPad apps to track stats), it was high time for an honest to goodness (non-virtual-reality-based) game. It was a weird one. A seven-player game, and I went last. I was very concerned off the bat. I also started in South America, another major cause for concern, seeing as how I?d never won from there before. This was also a game where I rolled three ones on two separate occasions. The first time I lost to a one. The second time I lost to a two. I?m glad those two rolls did not end up defining the game for me. The game set-up was impeccable. Everything was ready to go as soon as we arrived (after Nancy finally drove in the right spot to open the gate after Jamie missed it!). I?d have rather been pink, but random is random. The necessity of Ron?s early departure definitely added a twist to the game. It worked for me, despite Nancy rolling entirely too many sixes on Ron?s behalf (every second roll). There was a turn where it was forgotten to add Ron?s extra men before my turn, so even when I thought I had finished him off, I had my joy restrained and had three more men to tend to for my troubles. It definitely was a weird game, but sometimes those seven-player affairs are. I am certainly glad to put 2014 in the rearview and move forward (though I did, of course enjoy our 100th game extravaganza and the set of steak knives it netted me!) Too bad Vedder had no better luck in the kids? game with the pink dice than I usually have, but all in all, a fine way to while away an afternoon.”
“What a fucking pointless exercise! First I applauded Jason (Yellow) for knocking down James (Black) at a time things looked very, very dark for me. Then I applauded Nancy for knocking down James (Black) to the point of oblivion ? without realizing Big James (Black) held Kamchatka and Irkutsk. Then I, without realizing (or listening to) the fact that James had ONLY ONE FUCKING CARD applauded myself for being able to swoop in there and knock James (Black) right outta the game. But with no cards to utilize with the James (Black) takeover, I left things wide FUCKING OPEN for Devin to applaud himself for handily dispatching me from the game. ARGH! I await Kamikaze Ron?s end-move? ?Wow: disappointing.”
“* Could I have had Iceland on the 3rd round ? probably yes! * If I had one Iceland in the 3rd round I could have dominated in the 4th round possible collected two sets of cards. Possible a buddy system should be considered for new players: - this needs to be examined as new players don?t always no the rules there needs to be accountability ? It?s not the new player?s fault Devin!!! ? OK It?s his 4th time not Devin?s fault. Always be turning. Good to see everyone hope I can make it out more often? Ignore my second *”
